Ideas to Get Active in Your Community

Get active in your community
|

With the holiday season in full swing, what better time than now to get involved in our local community. At Fulmer Sill, giving back is part of our core values. With the unprecedented year we’ve all experienced, we thought it would only be right to highlight some local Oklahoma organizations that could use our help now more than ever.

Here are three organizations that are dear to us that we hope you’ll consider helping this holiday season:

Bella Foundation

Bella SPCA was created to assist low-income, elderly, or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care when it cannot be afforded. At Bella, they believe every animal deserves to receive the best possible care regardless of the owner’s ability to pay. Every animal adopted into a loving home by Bella is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested and microchipped to give them the best possible start in their new life. Consider fostering, adopting, donating, or volunteering with the Bella Foundation this season. Learn more here.

Homeless Alliance of OKC

The Homeless Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rallying our community to end homelessness in Oklahoma City. The Homeless Alliance operates several housing programs for families with children, coordinates a community effort to house veterans and people who are chronically homeless, operates the IT infrastructure used by homeless-serving agencies in central Oklahoma, and publishes The Curbside Chronicle, a magazine that provides a voice and legitimate source of income for people who are homeless. Consider monetary donations or purchasing items needed from their wish lists. Learn more here.

OK Foster Wishes

OK Foster Wishes is a program of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy. OK Foster Wishes coordinates with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) to receive and fulfill holiday wish lists for children in foster care from all over the state. The organization has helped bring significant awareness to foster care in our state, putting a face to the kids in care, and helping to recruit families for them. Consider a monetary or gift card donation this season. Learn more here.

No effort is too small this holiday season! We hope you can find it in your heart to give back and help make an impact on our local community.

Stay safe and enjoy the holiday season!
