Team Spotlight: Ashley Nelson, Intake Coordinator
|

Here at Fulmer Sill, we’ve dedicated May to our Customer Appreciation. While we are also honoring Motorcycle Safety month with a special giveaway – we wanted to introduce the human behind our case lead form and all things client services. Ms. Ashley Nelson is our fabulous Intake Coordinator who always goes above and beyond for our clients. Check out her Employee Spotlight interview to learn more below!

Let’s get to know Ashley Nelson, Intake Coordinator!

Ashley studied Business at OSU-OKC from 2011 to 2013 and first started out as a Registration Coordinator in the medical field before transitioning to a more challenging role in the legal field in 2014.

Q: Tell us about your work experiences prior to Fulmer Sill.

A: In July of 2014 I was hired by Chad Kelliher, then working at another firm, for a Legal Assistant position.

With no prior knowledge of the legal field, I put my best foot forward and trained under the supervision of Chad, and gained extensive knowledge on an abundance of Legal Matters.

From 2014 to 2019, I had a rewarding career as I rose to Lead Supervising Assistant at a well-known law firm where I helped direct other support staff,, managed 180+ case files, assisted the Office Manager with Accounts Payable, and helped direct staff in the absence of management. While there I helped implement a Firm Handbook and Training Guide which I provided to new staff members.  I also trained all new incoming Assistants in the Personal Injury Department, where I emphasized building a strong rapport with clients, providers, and court staff.

Unfortunately, in 2019 I was laid off.

Q: What did you do after you were laid off?

A: Around the same time, my nephew Brixten Elias was born, and I became his childcare provider, his innocence brought me so much joy and I learned a great amount of patience (newborns don’t exactly have set schedules ha). Over the next year, I had time to self-reflect and seek God’s guidance. I also started to investigate supplemental incomes like Lyft/Uber and Uber Eats but that just wasn’t what the Lord was putting on my heart.

Q: When did you start your career at Fulmer Sill?

A: In June of 2020 I was again approached by Chad Kelliher, the Lead Attorney who I worked with at my former firm, about a job opportunity at Fulmer Sill! I thought Chad must be my career’s good luck charm!

After soul searching, I knew I wanted to get back into a Personal Injury role with a new mindset and shift of energy. When he called, I knew that this is what I needed to do.

I got the job and began my rewarding career at Fulmer Sill. The team effort and exchange of knowledge is unmatched. I honestly have never felt more at ease at a company, I learn something new every day. The team is intentional in everything they do. Each case is thoroughly reviewed, the Attorneys spend significant time to build a case up and create a narrative for our clients when at times our clients don’t have the words to speak and that is something I can stand behind.

Q: What are your main job tasks?

A: I handle all our New Client Intakes, Settlements and oversee all Non-Litigated Case Files.

Q: Tell us about your job interview at Fulmer Sill

A: I was going into an interview with all of these “Elite” Attorneys and feeling a little shaky, but when I walked in, I saw this cool-looking group of people who seemed so approachable. I immediately calmed down.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Fulmer Sill?

A: My favorite thing about working at Fulmer Sill is the collaborative work environment. I get to broaden my knowledge about the work that we do through an accommodating work environment and amazing team!

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: I enjoy hanging out on my patio, spending time with my significant other and my dog Ollie, looking on Pinterest for ideas for my current and future business and hosting girls’ nights.

I started a side business that allows me to feed my artistic side. I never thought I would be able to work full-time AND start a new business, but my team here at Fulmer Sill has been supportive.

Q: What’s your favorite type of music?

A: R&B, Gospel, 90s Hip-hop/R&B

Q: Where can we spot you around town?

A: I enjoy grabbing a drink at The Collective, the environment is so awesome, and they have a great DJ.

At this point, it’s only right that we thank Chad Kelliher for helping bring Ashley on board. Chad says, “I always appreciated Ashley’s hard work and thought if there was ever an available position, that she should be considered by the Fulmer Sill Partners.” That happened last year, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Now with 7 years of Personal Injury Legal Experience, Ashley continues to grow and is a huge asset to the Fulmer Sill Team.

Keep up the great work Ashley! And know that at Fulmer Sill you’re in good hands from initial inquiry to your dedicated legal representation.
